I have had natural hair my whole life (almost 15 years) and I think it is safe to say that I have learnt a lot from my natural hair journey.
Having thick and coarse 4c hair is not always the easiest and problems like hair growth, length retention and moisture retention can cause a problem.
So here are my top 5 hair growth oils of 2018 that helped me a ton!
ALL OILS CAN BE GOTTEN ON JUMIA
1. Jamaican Black Castor Oil
At the top of my list is JBCO! Jamaican Black Castor Oil moisturizes and strengthens the hair. It increases blood flow to the scalp which stimulates hair growth. It also prevents hair breakage and itchy scalp. If you can't find JBCO in its raw form you can find it in some hair products like the images below.
I highly recommend the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner, it is amazinggg!
2. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
EVOO has a lot of vitamins and antioxidants that help to retain moisture, prevent hair breakage and stimulate hair growth. It also protects the hair strands from pollution and harmful sun rays. It can be used as a pre-poo, in your shampoo or in your deep conditioner. However, it can be quite oily so I don't recommend saturating your entire head in it.
3. Argan Oil
Argan Oil hails from Morocco and I feel like it is one of the most under rated oils in the natural hair community. I have had a few experiences with it and it does wonders for my hair!
It makes my hair softer, sleeker, more manageable and way more moisturized. I highly recommend you try adding it to your deep conditioner!
4. Jojoba Oil
Jojoba Oil is not so popular in the natural hair community but I love it! It has really helped me with moisture retention (one of my biggest 4c hair problems) and hair growth. It can be added to shampoos, rinse-out conditioner, deep/leave-in conditioners or even hot oil treatments. It is also amazing for skin too!
and finally but certainly not the least,
5. Coconut Oil
This is probably my favourite multi-purpose oil. It can be used on your skin, hair, lips any where on your body basically (doesn't work for everyone's face tho). It is quite popular as I have seen a lot of brands using it in their products. Just like Extra Virgin Olive Oil it can be quite oily so I prefer to use it as a pre-poo or in my deep conditioner rather than as a leave-in.
You can get the oils on Jumia ( www.jumia.com.ng)
just visit the website and search up the oil and purchase.
hope you learnt a few things from this post
thank you for reading xx.
