DIY Hair masks definitely became really popular this 2019 and a lot of people obviously joined the wave. Nevertheless, most hair masks from well-known brands were just breaking the bank anyhow. After numerous Instagram posts, Pinterest recipes, twitter threads and a lot of research I discovered these 5 hair masks and decided to share them with you guys because they have helped my hair a lot! I typically use them when the hair mask I bought from the store is finished and I need to improvise.

**DISCLAIMER**

We don't all have the same hair type so feel free to tweak the recipe to your liking and taste. E.g. If a recipe calls for coconut oil and you know coconut oil does nothing for your hair, you can replace it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Sunflower Oil, etc.

1. Avocado and Banana Hair Mask

-1 avocado, mashed

-1/2 banana, mashed

-1 egg, beaten

-1 tablespoon of honey

-1 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

-1 tablespoon of Jamaican Black Castor Oil

*blend together until well combined

*apply to hair and gently massage scalp

*leave in for 30 minutes-1 hour and rinse off

2. Yogurt and Aloe Vera Hair Mask

-1/2 cup of plain yogurt

-2 tablespoons of coconut oil

-1/2 cup of aloe vera gel

-2 tablespoons of honey

*blend together until well combined

*apply to hair and gently massage scalp

*leave in for 30 minutes-1 hour and rinse off

3. Mayonaise and Yoghurt Hair Mask

-1/2 cup of plain yoghurt

-1 cup of mayonnaise

-2 tablespoons of honey

-1/3 cup of olive oil

*blend together until well combined

*apply to hair and gently massage scalp

*leave in for 30 minutes-1 hour and rinse off

4. Personalized Hair Mask

- 1 cup of your favorite deep conditioner

- 3 tablespoons of your favorite oil e.g.coconut oil, almond oil, neem oil, etc.

*blend together until well combined

*apply to hair and gently massage scalp

*leave in for 30 minutes-1 hour and rinse off

I hope you guys learned something from this blog post and don't forget you can substitute the oils int he different recipes for what you have or what works best for you.

Thanks for reading,

xx
