Enough of all the buy this treatment, buy this chemical apply this cream. I'm here to gice you a simple guide to building a skin care routine that works.
A BASIC SKIN CARE ROUTINE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. Cleansing
2. Toning
3. Moisturizing
extra stuff; masks + eye serums + acne spot treatments etc.
C L E A N S I N G
This is the removal of excess oil, makeup, skin, dirt or dead skin cells with a mild cleanser or soap. Some cleansers may be too harsh on your skin and may terribly affect your skin in the long run. So, if you are currently using a cleanser/soap and you face feels very dry after using it please stop. You may think it's cleaning your face very very well but it's stripping your skin of its normal oils.
OILY SKIN/COMBINATION SKIN: stay away from cleansing oils or oil-based cleansers if you don't want an acne farm on your face!
DRY SKIN: stay FAR AWAY from extremely drying cleansers and use more of oil-based/moisturizing cleansers
NORMAL SKIN: any cleanser that works for you
***i use black soap/dove soap to cleanse my face

T O N I N G
This is a step that helps to remove any residual cleanser or any makeup you may have missed while cleansing. It helps to restore the natural pH of the skin. It helps to hydrate you skin, leaving it in clean and clearr!
Toners don't really have anything to do with your skin type so an toner an be used.
You can also make a DIY toner so you know what is going in to your skin
some toners i recommend; witch hazel, neutrogena alcohol free toner

M O I S T U R I Z I N G
This is the process of using a moisturizing cream, butter or natural oil to moisturize your face.
DRY SKIN: use an oil-based moisturizer or butter like Shea butter or oil like olive oil
OILY/COMBINATION SKIN: use a water based moisturizer/ water based lotion to moisturize so you don’t make your face more oily
NORMAL SKIN: you can alternate between oil-based and a water-based moisturizer.
